Get ready; this contest for current SCBWI members opens February 15 at noon CT. Your 1,000-word entry could win the opportunity to submit a full manuscript to one of our “dream editors”! There are four categories and we’re delighted to announce our judges:
- · Picture Books: Karl Jones, Assistant Editor, Grosset & Dunlap, Penguin Random House Young Readers Group
- · Middle Grade: Wendy Loggia, Executive Editor, Delacorte, Penguin Random House Young Readers Group
- · Young Adult: Viana Siniscalchi, Associate Editor, Balzer + Bray, HarperCollins Children’s Books
- · Nonfiction: Kathleen Merz, Managing Editor, Eerdmans Books for Young Readers
The entry fee is $12 and you must attend the conference to enter, and be present to receive your applause and certificate of achievement. Submissions need to meet the rules to avoid disqualification. We will notify writers of successful registrations for the contest. Rules are detailed on the conference registration form. Registration will open February 1.
